Bidrage med feedbackWe happened in this restaurant by chance, as we stayed there nearby, and it was an exceptional discovery. Quality of excellent products (we have taken meats and cheeses, and first made in the house of an absolute goodness (special mention for dumplings. Very nice waiters and really cudddling service: from the welcome entrance, to the taste of their oil and their bread (sixam and poppy seeds on all! . They also make the Gin! A small tip: avoid whole grains of pepper in the dishes (at least ask if they are welcome. Congruous price for what is prepared and served.
Excellent experience, traditional Maremma cuisine but very well maintained. Attention to the customer is to emphasize a list of wines very, very interesting and articulated. Traditional dishes, both of land and of sea, with different organic products. Impeccable service and warm and professional welcome. Appropriate price.
We stumbled on this lovely little restaurant high over the Tuscan plain originally looking for pizza, but got much more! The tables directly overlook the vineyards and olive groves of the Ombrone plain, and are stunning at sunset. The chef Sandro speaks English and the waitress spoke German, and got us an outside table at the spur of the moment (call first). We had the Strozzapreti all'Etrusca (thick Tuscan noodles) with sage and rosemary, and the Cinghiale alla cacciatora (tender boar in red wine sauce). Sandro recommended a red 2018 Botrosecco from Antinori Le Mortelle (Cabernet Franc/Sauvignon), which was so good we will go there and buy a case of it. Panacotta for dessert. The best thing is you can see where half the food is from from the patio talk about home grown! Do yourself a favor and go!
I' m actually from Florence and I write this review to really warn our visitors on this small apparently highly ranked restaurant. Please do not think I' ve got something personal for assessing this facility as poor. I just want my experience to be duly leveraged by other travellers. 1 no A C, only very few tables outdoor . . . we sat inside and it was real hot! 2 1 only menu all year long . . . extremely heavy fat oily type of menu items. If you are someone following a healthy diet this is really not the place for you 3 wine list: that' s really the most astonishing part the menu lacks completely the grape type for each wine in the menu. You' re blind because clearly the simple label tells you in general nothing about the wine. The host clearly proposes anything he likes because unless you start cross checking on the web you have not chance to get oriented on the wine 4 the host: he thinks to be funny but he' s just rude and inappropriate. I' d like to stress that us Tuscanian are in general not super friendly with tourist but this guy thinks that being just heavily inappropriate is funny . . . well , you should not let him being dis respectful I would not recommend this restaurant even to someone I do not like
We got to Boccaccio for recommendations of our hosts. We were staying at Veturlonia and drove all the way to Saldana just for Boccaccio and it was absolutely worth it. The food is great, and the veggie options are awesome. The wine is excellent and comes directly form the source. The best is the people, we had the chance to meet Sandro, the owner and his wife who is the chef. With were super friendly and open to have interesting conversations about the food. I highly recommend this place if you are in Tuscany.
