Roma Cucina - Fremantle

Last week accountant for my boss said in Freo try this little old restaurant where locals go and not on main strip. 3 Guys for workmeal went Sat night, 2 from Syd & 1 local expert who has never taken us to a bad place yet. He had never heard of it so he was doubtful but after going there Sat he rang me today & said it was best he has had for ages & he taking wife & friends next Saturday as well. Good old favourite Italian dishes like we remember from Italian restaurants years ago. We are glad we found it.

Can't say enough about this restaurant. We recommend it to everyone we know. Lucy and the Team are awesome - good honest food and just the best!!!! Thanks for an amazing night last night for our celebration.

Revamped and revisited this old family restaurant. food was good...staff friendly...new decor is very nice...

... and it is excellent for what it is. It's an accessible experience for a wide variety of patrons - families, friendship groups, couples out for a meal. It's friendly, welcoming and very good value. It's not ground-breaking cuisine or silver service.The menu is pretty traditional Italian, offering pastas (a very good prawn and crab spaghetti when we were there), risottos and a variety of meat dishes. Meat dishes come with a choice of chips and salad, or vegetables; and a choice of sauces. The food is reliably good and servings are generous. The wine list is better than one might expect and the prices are very reasonable - not the usual price-gouging that one has come to expect elsewhere. The welcome was genuine and the service friendly.It is terrific to have the old 'Roma' back in Fremantle with its family connections. It is a new incarnation but retains the best traditions of the old - a warm welcome and great value.

My family and I have eaten here twice in the past week due to various special events and on both occasions our meals were cooked to perfection - it is certainly one of the best meals I have had at a restaurant in Fremantle.Being quite a few of us, we all opted for vastly different meals and I am pleased to say that each one was cooked to perfection and served really quickly, even on a Friday night when the restaurant was almost full! I had both a Chicken Parmigiana &Gnocchi Bolognaise and both dishes were delectable.Certainly recommend to anyone looking for a hearty Italian meal in Fremantle.
