Sabor De Cuba - Frederick

First time there for mother's day and Heather made my experience incredible ?? she went above and beyond to make sure that my mother's day dinner was spectacular ????. The service was great the food was amazing, it definitely touched my roots, it took me back to my childhood ????. The ropa Vieja was a let down they should touch up that recipe, they've got the concept but it's not quite there. The cubano sandwich is a MUST GET!! But everything else is amazing ????. The

I have been a costumer for while now and always asked for Vaca frita. Today I took some of my friends there and unluckily decided to try something new. I miss the chicken on the Milanesa de Pollo, the slice of ham on the top of it was ticker than the chicken breast.

The service was friendly but very slow . The room was apparently under or un air conditioned. The room was super moist. But other than that it was a good experience. Probably won't go back because we found that Cuban food is not a favorite, but we're glad we tried it.

The regular margarita was the best I've ever had. The sweet plantains were excellent and so was the deep-fried chunks of pork. A similar dish I enjoyed in Miami employed lime juice with the pork, but Sabor De Cuba supplied a lime wedge instead. Still very enjoyable and the second time I ordered the same dish so it must be good.

My husband and I made a 7:00 reservation for dinner after a Frederick Keys game. I offer these details for several reasons: we were dressed VERY informally but didn’t feel underdressed, we didn’t have to drive far from the game, it was good we made a reservation. The food was excellent: mojitos, empanadas (fried), Bistec de Palomilla, and a special of the day: chicken breast in a crema sauce. Everything was excellent—including the Cuban espresso. Amy, our server, was magnificent! In fact, when I asked her about the sauce for the chicken, she brought out the special ingredient from the kitchen so I could see the label. The final tab was a real bargain, so I hope my husband left her a generous tip. The only complaint I had was the noise level. We eat at home a lot and are used to quiet; the few times we’ve been out recently, the noise level doesn’t facilitate conversation; this restaurant was no exception.
