Bagno Silvio - Forte dei Marmi

My hotel recommended I come here for lunch as it’s a place that even locals frequent. The staff was helpful and gave me a table right by the beach with a lovely view. I ordered a seafood salad, which was good. Since I didn’t finish it, the waiter asked me if it was ok and I told him I should have ordered fried calamari as I like it better than when it’s boiled. Even though it was not on the menu, he prepared some for me so I wouldn’t leave disappointed. The service was quick and the fried calamari was delicious. It’s slightly on the pricey side (total of €35), but I suppose that’s reasonable for Forte dei Marmi.

Went here for lunch and were pleasantly surprised by the quality of food as well as the great service. The menu although it was in Italian, it was explained in great detail. Fabulous restaurant in a beautiful setting.

I spend my holiday in Forte dei Marmi since I was born: this is the only place in this town that stand up from the crowd. Most of the places here are fancy, very expensive and made for people that want just to show themselves. At Bagno Silvio you feel yourself protect from the kitsch and you can relax enjoying the sunset directly on the beach. The tables are prepared on the sand, under a big awning with candles and white linen. Silent environment, apart from the sound of the waves; kind waiters that will respect your privacy and advise you regarding the catch of the day or the best wine combination. A must try: spaghetti alle arselle! I don't leave Forte dei Marmi and the summer season without having had them.

The food is excellent, and the service is great. Very friendly, and local atmosphere. We sat next to the beach. Great view, and nice breeze. The menu is limited, but very well chosen. There are many choices next to the beach in this beautiful resort town, but this one definitely stands out. It is a little expensive, but the quality of the food, and the location are well worth it.
