Stewby's Seafood Shanty

We loved eating here!! They were out of grouper, but tried another suggestion, Amber Jack. It was great! The meal was a good amount of food a great value. We wanted to eat here every night! ?Atmosphere is weird with how to gut different fish.

Wow the food was phenomenal. Between the grouper, amber jack, flounder, crab claws, and amazingly made hush puppies, out whole group was in for a real treat. The line was out the door, great sign and the staff was friendly ordering at the front. The fried was great, the grilled seasonings were tasty. This is the kind of place you'll want to have more than once on your trip! Great sea food, friendly homey atmosphere. Awesome. Almost forgot to mention the cheese grits they were delicious just like the perfectly made hush puppies!

We dined at seafood restaurants everyday during our weeklong stay in Fort Walton/Destin, and our very first meal at Stewby's easily had some of the freshest, tastiest dishes of them all while also being very reasonably priced. The staff was friendly and patient while our large party of 10 ordered one-by-one at the counter, and the food came out relatively quickly.My only complaint is that they set the bar high for the rest of the trip, and most of the touristy, overpriced restaurants after that were a bit of a letdown.

Amazing! We ate there twice on our trip. There was an outdoor area for our kids to move around. You order at a counter inside then they call your number which was ideal instead of being seated and served when we have young ones. Plus the food was so good and affordable! Definitely get the cheese grits!

Quick review: Long wait to order, good fresh food.Longer review: It's a high end fast food style restaurant. Lots of waiting to get your order in, but the food is definitely worth the wait (Unless you're stuck outside in the summer waiting to get in). I love that the food is freshly made, and the pictures on the walls of the fish they process in the back are super cool and informative. My biggest gripe is having the drink machines in the back so you have to wait and interrupt the line to get a refill. Also not including the drink in a dinner meal combo is kinda rude...
