U Shabu - Flamingo Heights

The side dishes variety is awesome! Spicy tonkatsu soup is super yummy! And Ice cream was great to cool down after a heavy meal

I saw this place the time I took my dad to Napal Baji BBQ, and I was thinking in my head, that will be the next place to hit when I get super hungry. Well, that time had finally come, and I went out of my way to have dinner at this place. I am a solofoodie and I got the 28.99 for one person. I ordered the House Special and the Miso broth for the hotpot. I ordered U ShabuSpecial Rib eye, beef top sirloin pork belly, and pork shoulder. As I ordered it, I decided to help myself to the hot appetizersthat were arranged buffet style, I do not expect these items to be high quality or fresh, but to my surprise, these appetizerswere tasty finger food. I was impressed that they would go out of their way to ensure these overlooked items were at their peakquality. That is a gold star in my book after I got the sauce, the rice, and all the vegetables and seafood to put in the broth,the meat was already sitting there ready to be submerged into the boiling broth. I also had a plate full of vegetables and ramenso I slid those items into the hot pot as well. To say the meat is good is an understatement. The blend of sauce, broth, andvegetables whip up an aroma I have never experienced before. As I used the ladle to pour the soup into the bowl of rice alongwith meat and vegetables, I could not contain myself any longer and had to devour it. This went on for an hour or so, and I wasstuffed. I could not move from eating 8 orders of meat and slurping up the two soup broths paired with the vegetables, andseafood items: mussels, fishballs, and imitation crab. I was partially in a food coma at one point. During my feast, I didnotice that the servers were so quick in getting rid of plates and awaiting any other requests I had. I was taken aback by theexcellent service, they kind of reminded me of a terminator. They were on the same level as personal butlers. Great place. Extremely clean and great service. Whenever I visit my in-laws in Korea, we go to a shabu place which is what put the style of food on my radar. We drove by and have since been to the restaurant quite a few times. It has become one of ourfavorites. Service has always been great and never have to wait for the meat to be brought to the table. My in-laws came tovisit for two months, and they loved it so much we brought them three times. We do wish they served alcohol though, but outsideof that, it is a really good place to eat with good quality food. I always get the spicy broth and my wife will go back andforth between the spicy broth and house broth. The great thing is they offer sauces to add to your broth to tailor the taste toyour style. I always add a little chili sauce and siracha sauce to my broth for a little more kick. There is a wealth ofdifferent food to put in your broth with tons of vegetables, etc. along with seafood. They even offer hot food already made andyou can grill meat similar to a Korean BBQ if you like. We are going again on Monday in fact.

The best Shabu we've tried in the area. Amazing food and place! I highly recommend it!

This is probably the cleanest Shabu/hotpot restaurant I have ever been to. We went during lunch time on a Thursday and the place wasn't too busy. Our waiter, (forgot his name), was great. Very attentive and came around multiple times to check on us. The food stations were very clean and well lit. Got the spicy Tonkatsu broth and it had a lot of flavor. Very reasonably priced.Thank you!
