West Branch Grill - Finland

Fun times at this typical small town bar. plenty of local characters, a great bar tender, and really great pizza. They have tvs(yes, it's a good place to watch the game, sports fans), a pool table, darts, large seating area, local beer on tap, burgers, and pull tabs. High marks for a great small town bar feel. You can have supper with the kids, a beer with the guys, hang with your grandma, or go solo and find yourself among friends. cheers.

We ordered burgers and pizza, and there was a staggering 40-minute gap between when the first burgers arrived and when the last pizza was served. The burgers lacked flavor, and one person didn’t receive the bacon they ordered; by the time the server returned 20 minutes later, they had already decided to eat the burger without it. The pizza also left much to be desired, and both sizes are overpriced at $20 for a 10-inch and $25 for a 14-inch. Additionally, the menus shown in the Yelp photos are outdated; they've significantly reduced their offerings and raised their prices.

We ordered the bootlegger's burger, half-and-half wings, tikicolada cider, and a few other beers, and everything was fantastic! It exceeded my expectations, especially considering the remote location. The waitress was incredible too! She had a big smile, was very friendly, and extremely helpful.

I just returned from a 15-day hike on the Superior Hiking Trail and I'm enjoying my first (and second) Surly Furious. The pizza here is fantastic—everything is homemade with a thin crust. The burgers are wonderful too, and the fries and onion rings are great. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, truly capturing the essence of the northern woods. Now I'm on my third Surly...
