Bidrage med feedbackIf you fancy an authentic Corsican meal, surrounded by locals, this is a place to go. The food was very good - not pretentious - and there was plenty of it, at a very reasonable price. Someone has previously commented how bad the beef fillet was, but my family had 2 of these and they were fabulous. We were also warmly welcomed and well looked after. My only negative comment is that I would have liked to have had Corsican beer with my meal as opposed to the really tiny bottles of Heineken on offer. Maybe this was just a glitch on the day we visited.
We enjoyed a marvellous evening meal, very friendly and helpful service, the chef was kind enough to come out and explain the menu, and huge plates of food. The fritto de mare was fabulous as was the entrecôte. Thoroughly recommend. Cash only.
The "pizza" is more a tarte flambée than a pizza. And no mozzarella! Only emmentaler cheese. No good. Then the ravioli: too soft and in a "soup" of lobster-a-like than in a sauce. The filled zucchini was just minced meat with a topic of tomato sauce and - again - emmentaler. The house wine is average and the bottle not very clean. They only take cash. Certainly, we will not go there again. Any picnic is better than this.
Pizzas appeared to have been made by a beginner. Peculiar in shape, quantity of topping vastly exceeded quality, the result of which was nocturnal indigestion. Base was bland, but no chilli oil was offered (though we saw some on the way out). No wine list. We were offered 'local rose', which our bill later told us was 24 Euros a bottle -- at that price, customers should be told in advance who made the wine, vintage, etc. Service inefficient -- there was a mistake with one of our pizzas and the correct one arrived 15 minutes late. Hygiene questionable -- cat permitted on tables. Understaffed, leading to long waits for not especially friendly service.
This place was close to where we were staying so it was more for convenience rather than anything else.We ordered some drinks and they let us with the menu board we chose the Carpaccio of beef and he Salmon starters and both had the duck breast as our main, the starters were fine, good size and tasty, the main course however for me the duck breast was a bit tough although we asked for it to be cooked medium. Initially the service was good but as they got busier the service dropped of dramatically, I had to ask for the bill 3 times and when it eventually arrived I had to go into the restaurant to find someone to pay only then to be told that they do not take cards, cash only. She knew we were tourists and she could of said at the beginning, I asked her where it said this and she showed a pa get in the wine menu which said NO CB, I raised my eyebrows and left.
