Chalavar - Faro

Um local altamente recomendado porque está fora da zona turística. Há muitas pessoas locais comendo e oferecem uma infinidade de peixes. Voltaria sem dúvida, foi um sucesso. Também muito boa qualidade-preço.

Comi salmão grelhado muito saboroso e camarão grelhado. Houve também salada de tomate, pão e batatas fritas. Restaurante de peixe simples e muito barato. Posso altamente recomendar o restaurante.

Search for restaurants in faro, the fresh fish offered, we finally found o chalavar. so glad we made it! it was exactly what we wanted - a simple place that cooks fresh fish. no one speaks much (or any) English. no menu, they only choose from the seafood case and the man behind it grills their fish. with potatoes. we had tuna steaks, a whole white fish and a pitcher wein for 31 euro.

This is a place where it helps to know the rules. When you arrive, walk straight to the back and pick out the fish you want from the menu and/or the case in front of you. It was early in the evening, but they were inexplicably running out of several items, so at the suggestion of the waitress, I ended up with a large piece of Swordfish, a medium sized Mackerel, and several small Sardines.Everything is cooked in the same grilled with oil and garlic style, but no one should complain about that, The swordfish (which was what would often be considered a full dinner portion by itself), was spectacularly good. The Mackerel was also quite delicious. As for the Sardines, well, I don't think I'm a fan of that species. But overall the meal was excellent, and my total bill, including a nice cup of chicken soup before the fish arrived, and a half liter of the house wine, came out a total of euros!
