Toby Carvery - Exeter

Four of us went for a Saturday lunch first visit since covid pandemic. we'll be back. beautiful warm restaurant, super service and excellent eating at an amazing price. had two tasty ice desserts between us four with four. poonen!

Came here to do Christmas work and eating in toby carvery is amazing as always. all tasted fresh and yorkshires were great! the personal here was very friendly and very fast to serve us drinks

The meat; I always choose bark meat is tender, good choice of sweet and the heavy is from this world. I loved the kartoffel and carrot baker.

We have booked a table in advance to avoid disappointment. a good thing we did as this toby carvery is popular. we arrived a little early and sat, 3 of us at a table for 4, close to the window. Drinks were served immediately and we were looking for some meat. a selection of 4 meats, truthahn, pork, bark and ham. all were well cooked and had good portions. the ve and carrots were all fresh and hot. the personal was cheerful and helpful, only the ticket. we'll be back soon if we enjoy a carvery.

Why have a coffee machine if it’s off at 20:50. Two Sundays on the trot now and the coffee machine is off, disappointing as I won’t ever come for a meal now as the simple things are too much of an effort. Surely cleaning the...automated cleaning coffee machine can happen after food service has ended. Hospitality is about service, not rushing to get everything done so you can go home early. Poor management gets the team to check if anyone wants coffee while they still having mains. I spoke to the manager and he said, we don’t have hot chocolate in any case and we always turn the machine off at approximately this time. So it seems it the norm not to upsell and improve your turnover during these tough times. Long live service.
