Bidrage med feedbackWe arrived late, so there was a reduced selection of menu. the personal could not have been more helpful and friendly. Apart from the necessity, until on, we were not rushed and really enjoyed our eating and drinks. in any case, it would be repeated.
Restaurant isn 't so good... We 're very sorry 'cause rooms are confortable! Prices are equal than in Paris, 80km far away!
I have just made a trip on foot to this restaurant which is about 500 metres from the hotel where I’m staying in Dreux, France. It was recommended on some leaflets in my room so I thought I’d give it a try. When I arrived...the restaurant was about half full. One waitress was serving at all the tables. She totally ignored me. Two other men were in the kitchen cooking, which I could see from where I was standing. They seemed to be doubling up as cooks and reception attendants as they were wearing a uniform made up of black trousers and grey shirts on which badges were pinned with their names on, not at all the white paraphernalia usually ascribed to chefs or cooks. They also totally ignored me. After waiting about five minutes, one of the men in the kitchen shouted something at me from about five metres away, I didn’t understand and must have looked puzzled, so he shouted louder “j’arrive!” (which means “I’m coming” this was hopeful, so I thought. Meanwhile the solo waitress who seemed very relaxed, after walking about the tables strolled over to the counter and played a game of solitaire with the meal tickets. She still chose to ignore me and made no eye contact whatsoever. I waited another seven minutes and said to myself “I’ll count to ten slowly, and if no one comes to me, I’ll leave”. So I counted to ten, and I’m sure I could have counted to fifty or more and still be there tomorrow, waiting…. I can’t comment on the food of this restaurant as I was denied the honour of doing so by the ever so unwelcoming staff, but I can’t say that there were any enticing smells in the air, and to be honest I couldn’t put my trust on anyone who seems to be doing a job both as cook and porter at the same time. Even if the food had been great I wouldn’t want to eat in a place where the staff couldn’t care about their customers. When you’ve been travelling, a nice welcoming can make all the difference to your state of mind. At the Campanile Restaurant you might as well be dead for all they care.
We were mis sold as we see it. We booked this hotel based on the fact it had a restaurant. We have been regular and long standing customers of Campanile. Having booked, we discovered that the reviews on this website were claiming that the restaurant...was shut. Not just recently, but for months! Why is Campanile still advertising a restaurant?? We then emailed the hotel direct, following the advice of their reservations centre, to ask if the restaurant would be open on the day we had booked. The answer came back, the restaurant will be shut, but we are working! We then called by phone the head office, who claimed the restaurant was open. We informed them that it was not, and that we had emails from the hotel to back this. We were then put on hold. The lady came back stating that she had spoken with her boss. If we contact the hotel direct by email, they would refund us our reservation money. Foolishly, we agreed and duly sent them an email....... .......to no avail! Totally ignored, not even an acknowledgement. Ok, we had a non refundable reservation, but this was on the understanding there would be a restaurant open! As advertised, and still is on their website! We were mis sold! We will NEVER use Campanile, or any of the Louvre hotels again! Appalling customer service! AVOID!!
We have stayed at this hotel many times over the years and have always been satisfied until the last visit. We arrived tired and hungry at 6.45 only to be advised that the restaurant was closed. We had been looking forward to a meal but...instead had to walk into the town to find a restaurant. Given that the booking was made direct by me on the internet the hotel had access to my e mail address I would have expected them to have contacted me to advise so that I could change my booking to another hotel. I have sent a comment to Campanile but after 8 days have had no response.
