Legal Tender - Evanston

Stopped here with my work crew passing through town. I had previously heard good things about it, so i was curious. We were literally ignored and nobody came to seat us for a good 20 minutes. We were just about to leave when someone came. Waitress was very nice but food took another 30 minutes to arrive. Food was excellent. The atmosphere was confusing. It is a themed restaurant, with portraits of famous 1930s gangsters with 1930s music, but half of it was turned into a sports viewing area. Weird. But the food was great and the waitress was very friendly.

The service from the waitress was actually 3 stars. But, I 'm dinging them a star for not having Samuel Adams in the bar at all. For a place that serves beer and alcohol and is considered a travelers ' restaurant , I feel like they should offer more domestic micro brew beers other than Anheiser Busch products. So I bought a Modelo. Then I was not offered a 2nd beer with my dinner.I do like the atmosphere and the food was really good. The side of Pickle fries was Delicious. My kids had steak that looked to be cooked to order (kinda hard to find lately). My burger came with a decent amount of tots and the bacon was great! Could 've used a bit more Swiss cheese but the mushrooms were wonderful! And the French Onion soup was fantastic.It seems the standard that the more dinning costs, the less bang you get for your buck. This dinner was fairly impressive, comparatively..... Thank you! Legal Tender! Vegetarian options: Soup and salad bar..... If your a vegetarian.... You can always hit the soup and salad bar. Kid-friendliness: Welcome to come in for dinner. Diner is separate from the lounge. Wheelchair accessibility: Handicap parking available and roll in door.

Legal tender is a nice restaurant that our family enjoys going to again and again but this strawberry french toast breakfast was so good I had to leave a review! Kat our waitress was fun to talk to and gave great service as well.

Shelby, Kat, and Char were our servers for breakfast. They were incredible and executed exceptional service. We felt welcomed and at home. We will be recommending his place to everyone!
