Bidrage med feedbackAt Miga Sushi on Rüttenscheider Straße you can eat delicious sushi. The service is very friendly and the card offers a wide selection of sushi varieties, but also other Asian treats. Especially on weekends you should book a table, especially if you want to eat later (between eight and nine). During my last visit it was very crowded and it was just a place to get to the bar (which is not a problem with two people. There is a small minus point because we had to wait very long for our sushi because it was so full (almost an hour!), but for that we could be sure that it was also really fresh. In advance a soup is served, which you can then sneak out of the bowl. Of course, the food is served with bars. The prices are good. For a normal Maki roll (6 pieces you pay between 3,50 € and 6,00 € depending on the filling. There are also various sushi plates. Here you get a colorful mix of sushi varieties. Recommended for Sushi fans!
We had a very nice #datenight recently here. The food is fresh and quickly prepared. Excellent service and food, which I can just recommend! So far the best sushi place in Essen.
The prepared sushi from the grocery market is much better than the sushi here! We tried sushi rolls and some nigiri. The fish was not fresh. The food was not tasteful. The size of the rolls was very small. The shrimp was mushy from...being thawed out. We had server but a different person (the daughter of the owner) to take our money for the bill. The server asked if our food was good and we told him that it was not. Obviously this offended the management. We were simply honest. She told us that we were rude. She should find another type of work because she is not good at this type of work. She was outright rude! This was our first and last visit to this place. The sushi restaurants in Düsseldorf are suppose to be really good. Skip this tasteless, over-priced, rude restaurant
The food, especially the sushi, were excellent. I can recommend the Inside-out fashion roll, having both avocado and fish at the outside as well. However, the service was not that satisfying. If you have time, no problem. In a rush, e.g. before going out to...the theater's, I would not recommend it, since it might get stressful.
After having been to two different Asian restaurants before heading here, I think my wife and I were certainly thinking that Essen (despite it literally translating from German as to eat did not do many other cuisines well. We eventually plumped for this little place...as it was one of the few places on Ruettenscheider Strasse that did not have an outdoor area and so would not be having the number of smokers ruining the air as we have normally encountered. Inside was filled with simple tables and chairs, but a welcoming sight is the sushi chef behind the sit-down bar making his dishes. That it least smacks of authenticity. The sushi we ordered were delightful and had fresh fish. Also, they did not overload the tray with a large dollop of wasabi and pickled ginger, like I have previously experienced, they actually gave just the right amount of both, so that they would be used up. Again, suggesting that they chef knows his stuff in that the sushi only needs subtle extra flavouring, rather than having your head blown off with spice. We also ordered some warm dishes from the very small selection it had, which I think all sushi restaurants must do since just having sushi is likely to put some customers off. I ordered their fried chicken with teriyaki and my wife got the beef bulgogi (certainly not Japanese, I know). I was actually disappointed when my plate arrived because it was not chicken teriyaki as I know it, but a load of fried battered chicken pieces placed in a heap over a relatively sparse amount of fairly watery teriyaki sauce... Such a shame as I had high hopes. But the Bulgogi (the Korean dish) was done superbly! The beef was well-marinated and tender, and the kimchi that accompanied it was also exceptional. I wish I had ordered it myself instead of what I actually got. Certainly, the best Asian restaurant we have managed to eat at whilst in Essen, and apart from their odd version of chicken teriyaki, the food is worth it.
