Midtown Inn & Diner - Ermita

The taste of eating was ok and the ambiente was great. but the portion size was absurdly small for the price.

My quest for breakfast in the Ermita district led me here, where I had the Mona Lisa Smile here. It was perfect for me since I was actively avoiding salty foods, but other people may find it bland to the taste. The order took less than 10 minutes, and it was served piping hot, so I was assured that it was freshly prepared. The ambiance is reminiscent of a 50s era diner without the jukebox, although they were playing classic OPM songs. Orders were moderately priced and the serving was generous enough. I will be coming back to have some of their other offerings.

Being in this diner will take you back to a time before. Stepping through its doors is somehow a throwback because of its interior- couches and tables, a bar, neon lights and a television. You will certainly adore its feel. The food is great and very affordable. Plus, they are generous with their seving. Students may come if you are on a budget as well (and restraining from fast food). This is certainly a must try along Faura!

This is tiny oldstyle resto along faura which serves excellent cheap breakfast sets. This is a popular go to breakfast place for doctors like me and to lawyers as well (Supreme Court and PGH are nearby). This was recently renovated apparently. Still have that old manila feel to it with a touch of american dinner ambiance. Newly replaced cushioned seats, bright yet warm painted walls, and comfortable cool environment makes it a good place for groups. Today, for my post duty breakfast, i ordered longganisa meal -sweet garlicky sausage, with perfect sunny side up egg, garlic rice, with a choice of iced tea or coffee. (150pesos) I loved it. The rice was so flavorful, the egg was just perfect with its runny yolk, and the longganisa - is a tender and tasty. They also offer wide variety of breakfast sets -including danggit, tocino, omelettes etc.

Despite its run-down and shabby interiors, Midtown Inn actually serves pretty good food-- especially if you're on a college student budget. I think this restaurant could definitely benefit from upgrading the interiors and making the exteriors look cleaner :) it's a shame not many people go here because of how the restaurant looks, because the food here is pretty good :)
