Niederbauen - Emmetten

From mount Niederbauen you have the nicest view of Lake Lucerne in my opinion and also pay a lot less to go up than mount Rigi or Pilatus (which are overrun by tourists anyway) Besides that, you can eat some really good food up here....The restaurant is being run by a very friendly couple who offer great food and service. I can highly recommend the Swiss traditional dish called Älplermagronen that they serve here, which is absolutely far out the best I have ever had. The other dishes are very tasty aswell, but if you want the real swiss feeling, go for that dish, you won 't regret it!

We had the tasting menu for lunch. The view on the Vierwaldstättersee could not be better. The service was friendly and the food just great! The smoked trout on a salad tasted fresh and light, the mountain hay soup was very interesting, the tenderloin with...mashed potatoes as a main course was of good size and super soft. The dessert was a frozen yoghurt with biscuit on a verbena gelee. The four course menu is priced at 65 CHF. Also the wine selection is good. This is a hidden pearl! To come to this restaurant you have to take the cable car from Emmetten.

Excellent location, drivable with cable car gondel by emmeten. beautiful Swiss meal, great view in a beautiful weather. great restaurant.

View into the mountains, at the lake and far into the Swiss middlelands, at a clear day you could see up to the German black forest. the service is very attentive and eating a constant good quality and very tasty. for so far away it has a beautiful wine selection. if they sit in the evening for a long time, they will use the cable car only for them to get back down.

Lunch in august 1. excellent food and panorama. very friendly people see photos attached we were in the hotel see view. very relaxing place. they must be here at least 2 days
