The Bear - Elmbridge

We waited over an hour for two meals. It seemed like the kitchen staff got diatracted and almost forgot about our order. They did apologise and tried to make it up by giving our little one an ice cream. And they disnt have any of their roast diahes left by 6 pm apparently.

Lovely meal in a beautiful pub. Food was beautifully cooked, atmosphere excellent and service attentive without being intrusive. cannot fault it in any way

Lovely place, great selection of drinks and food. They do Sunday roast. I enjoy the burger, juice, and tasty. They have a beer garden at the back . Great service! Burger plus a beer £22!!

They need to fire the chef. This restaurant has lovely decor, a good location, staff are great but the food is truly terrible. We had the fish pie which was a small portion served solely mixed with potato and cheese. Very bland, very tasteless and slightly suspect smelling. Very poor for £14. No veg and no garnish even. The truffle Mac and cheese was dry, tasteless and a bit plasticky tasting. Definitely not fresh. The menu reads beautifully but suspect it was created by someone else and is being served up by an inferior chef. A real shame as this place would otherwise be a gem. Go for a drink but definitely not for the food.

Visited today, staff were too busy chatting and signing rather than notice customers at the bar waiting to be served. Half a dozen empty tables outside full of glasses and bottles that no wanted to clear. 4 members of staff came out to serve food during my 45 min stay and all had tunnel vision to even blink an eye to the mess around them. Word of advice, if you're gonna charge high prices, at least provide a service and experience that reflects it. Generally, places I pay this type of at, which isn't a problem, I more often than not get an exceptional experience.
