Southern On Main - Elkin

Wonderful restaurant in Elkin with elevated south kitchen. Reminds me of some of the southern fine restaurants in Charleston SC. It has a really cool atmosphere and everything on the menu tastes wonderful.

Very friendly and competent waiting staff and their cook is happy to fix a unique meal for a person with food allergies, including cooking in foil if necessary to avoid crossing allergens. Five stars. Thank you. Account

We stumbled on this beautiful restaurant on Saturday night and could not be happier! We had originally gone the street to another restaurant, but waited 15 minutes to place only our order. Nobody helped us. We left the road south on Main. Within 3 minutes we had taken a beautiful seat on the window and our beverage order by a attentive, sweet waitress (and provided). My husband ordered the trout and it was amazing. I ordered the shrimps and grits, and they were the heavens. The portions were perfect and the food was amazing. The atmosphere is cozy and not too loud. It offered us a great opportunity to talk and enjoy. We celebrated our 10-year anniversary and this place was perfect! Thank you for helping us turn to what a devastating evening might have been in a beautiful memory that we will have forever! The next time we're here, Southern on Main will be a destination for dinner!

A group of 6 of us went south on the Main to celebrate my birthday. We had a fantastic time...big cocktails, wonderful salads and each one of us tried something different than the menu with the exception of one that got the crabbon specially. Everyone was full, but our waiter mentioned cream brulee that was made in-house, so each pair got one to share! The food was delicious and the service was attentive. Thank you Southern on Main!! We look forward to the return!

We stopped here after we found out that dog was friendly. The outdoor seating area is very large and very relaxing. We loved it absolutely; not to mention the food. I had the meat plate with potatoes and green beans. It was phenomenal. My husband had the chicken pancake. Wiggles enjoyed the green beans immense. Also polite employees.
