My daughters and I received the worst customer service ever and I would like to hope it wasn't because we were the only persons of color in the restaurant but....we were told it would be a 5 to 10 minute wait to order a carry out order. The lady seated one family that was waiting before wr entered and four families that entered the restaurant after we were already their waiting to place a carry out order. 27 mintues 14 seconds and still nothing!! Noone took our to go order!! We exited the restaurant very troubled by the lack of customer service and lack of acknowledgement of the extremely long wait time to place a order and the serving of others (sitting of incoming families) all not of color. We had a kind customer that was dining inside come out to our car parked directly out front to extend an as she noticed us waiting and waiting patiently only to still not be serviced. She also said that she's been coming to this restaurant for years but has noticed a tremendous decline in the customer service yet she believes the owner is the same. After speaking to the owner to voice my dissatisfied with the total lack of customer service we still left feeling all the same!

Reserved in advance for a family reunion and memorial breakfast for our youngest Son, a USMC Veteran who we lost a year ago. Fortunately I called early this morning just before everyone was due to arrive. I was blamed for reserving the wrong date. In fact, I made the reservation for the only day everyone could attend and immediately noted in my mobile phone calendar. What they actually wrote down and then double-booked was the problem. Their careless oversight. I went there in person several weeks earlier to inquire about reserving for this important occasion and spoke to them twice since then to confirm. Suddenly on the morning of, there was a calendar issue.Their offer to re-schedule us after the other group finished their breakfast was more of an insult than a “fix.” It was clearly on my calendar but they just decided to blame me. Extremely thoughtless and careless on the part of Colonial Cafe. They casually blew us off like we weren’t worth a second thought. Awful attitude for a local business. We have been going there under two ownerships over the past eight years, but no more.

This was one of the best diners I’ve been to in a long time. The waiters were so sweet, the food came out in a timely manner, and there was a lively energy throughout. All the food was so hearty and delicious, not greasy and had amazing flavors, as well as being very affordable. A perfect southern breakfast, I would definitely come again.

We liked Colonial Cafe when they made their own bread. Each visit since then was progressively worse until we just couldn’t support them any more. It was like Peyton Place

After driving 30 mi to have lunch we were informed they were out of soup, bacon and lettuce. Great place to go for breakfast though. Very friendly staff. Won't ever drive there for lunch again.
