Starbank Inn - Edinburgh, City of

This was our first time at the Starbank Inn and it didn't disappoint. The friendly welcome extended to us as we arrived at 1pm on a Saturday was very nice. As two of our party have mobility issues they sat us near where we came in ,a change to where they had originally had us placed which was very considerate of them. We had main meals only and they were delicious. Fish and chips. Burger and chips and i had the steak pie which came with chunky chips. The steak pie was delicious, the meat just fell apart and was so tender, and the little pot of gravy made with beef dripping was so so tasty. The food was quick to come and piping hot . We will definitely be back. We dealt with 4 members of staff and they were just great, could have a little banter and they could not have done any more for us

Been here for a drink some time ago and the food looked great so we booked a table for 3 this time. Staff ever so friendly and lovely atmosphere. All food good but sea trout and sunday beef lunch exceptional. Good value for money too. Won't hesitate to visit again when staying in Leith. Well done Starbank staff.

I like this place, we’re here relatively regularly. The staff are always lovely and it’s a pretty wee place. It’s been a while this time between visits and I was a wee bit disappointed this time around. While the staff were still lovely, and the place as pretty as ever, the food is no longer value for money. While it is still delicious, the size of fish you get for nearly £18 was ludicrous, if I’m really honest. I didn’t exactly leave full. The prices have gone up and the portion sizes have gone way down and, unfortunately, I just can’t see myself returning any time soon as it really is terribly value for money. Real shame because the fish really is tasty, I’d just expect a lot more for the very high price.

Felt welcome the moment we walked through the door. The staff were very helpful and took the time to have a chat. We really enjoyed the food. It had an authentic home cooked taste. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Excellent hospitality! We were merely asking directions, as turned about tourists. After giving us the directions, Michelle, the proprietor, asked if we'd like something to eat. We agreed to fish and chips. The food was very good, place is wonderfully kept, it's an old building but in great shape. Super modern and clean toilets. Michelle and Rachel, our server made us feel like family.
