Zizzi - Eastbourne

My husband’s 40th-food was great, kids were entertained with activity sheet and I loved the vegan coconut ice cream and beetroot poppets.The vegan options are great and we came back again just for ice-cream.

The food and service were good at Zizzi Eastbourne but an invasion of small annoying flies around the restaurant were off putting to say the least , the manager says they are getting the problem rectified soon.

Admittedly it was extremely busy on a Saturday evening during the Eastbourne Airbourne air show, but it just felt very average, the service wasn't amazing. I had a hot pizza topping and no one came up during the course of the meal to ask if we wanted any more drinks or some water, and my mouth was on fire, was also difficult to attract the attention of waiting staff. I tried a different pizza for a change and I have to say sliced new potatoes on a pizza is just odd.... it was full of very loud children and was very noisy generally, so its great if you have small children. I guess its just a typical, chain, unexciting restaurant that was under pressure from a full house. I am distinctly underwhelmed by the Zizzis chain generally,

Nice table at back. Staff gave us plenty of time to chat look at the menu before taking our order. Bread bucket with balsamic vinegar olive oil was lovely we could pour what we wanted in to individual bowls. My warm steak mushroom salad was cooked to perfection with the steak medium rare as requested. The 2 pizzas looked lovely but with the buckets of bread to start we could only manage a coffee not a dessert! I had a birthday voucher which gave me my main meal free, which I got from signing up to their newsletter. We sat at our table for 3 hours were not pressured into leaving, we had a lovely evening will be going back soon.
