Laloux - E Montreal

Food was descent. Very limited menu. Nice service but unprofessional.

While on a brief vacation in Montreal, decided to try Laloux for a French experience. Several of the menu items were not available that evening. Had a cod dish which was well prepared but IMO under seasoned. The portions were on the small side. My wife had the gnocchi which was rather bland. 6 oysters appetizer was OK, but the oysters were quite small. A lemon tart dessert was OK- not worth the $14. In all, a very average meal, without any standout dishes. Small portions and a limited menu. I noted that it was Saturday night and the restaurant was only about 30% full.

We had a very good meal, the home made pate platter was very good. The sweetbreads were very nicely presented and delicious. We had a cod dish that was very good the ravioli stuffed with chorizo topped with seafood on a green pepper pure. Very different very good. The desserts were also beautiful and delicious... service with a smile and very professional! 'n

Beautiful restaurant on Avenue des Pins, just a few blocks from Montréal's St Denis Street. The food, the wine, the service, the atmosphere everything was simply perfect. Perfect, yet not overdone. We ate on the patio which is surrounded by greenery, creating a pleasantly cosy space. The food was amazing, prepared very creatively. I would (will) go back. I would certainly recommend it.

Very good food. A bit expensive for the menu dégustation and accord vin .
