Bidrage med feedbackI'm giving 1 star because of the unprofessional cheap management and customer service run by the Manager MATT. I heard the food was very good so we planned a large family event. The AC on the restaurant and our area was not working. Finally they brought us a portable fan. Their ceiling fans were not working either. We had a table of 25 and trust me that one fan was not helping so finally they bring a second one but shortly taken away to a storage room and their excuse was that we couldn't have two fans. Thank God some employees had more common sense and they were very nice acknowledging that Matt the Manager had bad attitude and service. I usually don't write negative reviews but that Manager Matt gives a bad name to the place and the rest of of the more qualified employees. Our waitress DENISE from New Haven CT was the best and also two other people helping her. I was actually so impressed with them working under those conditions and with a smile. Thank you Denise.
Okay from the pictures online this place does live up to the standard, the hostess Jasmine was all smiles from the moment we opened the door to asking us where we would want to sit and even asked us if we are comfortable, then we had our server Ralph from South Africa, greeted us with a smile we felt welcome ordered the special the mutton snapper, tuna nachos, grouper cheeks, got a recommendation of the quadriforre (sp) pasta, Delicious, Delicious Delicious. The view of the patio, the food, the stories of the South African culture from Ralph, the drinks from the bar (dark island tea, mojito, spicy seed margarita, old fashioned, blue marina). I highly recommend this place. The downside of the night was the food runner who was commanding when handing out the food and seemed unbothered until our server took over and politely thanked him. Thank you to Jasmine, Ralph and the cooks, and the incredible drinks from the bar. For that service Angler and Ale will always be my best place definitely coming back for the Spicy seed margarita and the Pasta
Terrible Experience Avoid Angler and Ale! I recently had the misfortune of dining at Angler and Ale, and the experience was nothing short of a nightmare. First and foremost, the air conditioning was completely non functional, turning the dining area into a sweltering sauna. It felt like they were trying to prepare us for an impromptu hot yoga session rather than an enjoyable meal. They had multiple fans and would not use them. Literally told us 1 fan for a group of 25 was enough and stored additional fans which were functional. But that was only the beginning of our troubles. The manager, Matt, exhibited bizarre behavior throughout our visit. He was mad we requested two fans. I can't help but wonder if he was under the influence of something, as he appeared disoriented, inattentive, reeked of cigarettes and completely unprofessional. His lack of concern for the AC issue and his general demeanor left me questioning his competence as a manager. To make matters worse, Kathy, was downright aggressive in her interactions with us. Instead of addressing our concerns with courtesy and professionalism, she seemed more interested in arguing and defending the establishment's shortcomings. Her approach to customer service left us feeling not only uncomfortable but also disrespected. In conclusion, Angler and Ale provided an utterly disappointing experience. The malfunctioning AC, coupled with the unprofessional behavior of the manager and server, made this visit an absolute disaster. Save yourself the trouble and avoid this place at all costs.
Angler Ale has been one of our favorite places in the Keys and we have been going to the restaurant 5-6 times per year. They have recently changed the menu and SIGNIFICANTLY increased prices. Understand inflationary impacts, but price to value has crossed the line where we will no longer visit. Hopefully management will make some changes, $18 for a piece of cake js nuts.
I never write reviews but figured it could help the restaurant improve by doing so. On our recent trip to hawks cay we stopped here first for lunch. The views are beautiful and we wish the service, food and drinks matched. The food was way over cooked, chicken tenders for our 2 year old that she couldn't eat because they were so overdone and crispy, (the server kindly took them off our bill) , mahi tacos were decent but over cooked fish and my husbands fish sandwich was small and over cooked. The bottled beer was unfortunately warm at best, we tried a draft beer next and it was slightly colder but not much better. It's a shame because the location views are great. Put those beers on ice guys!!
