Hugo's - Dublin

Nice ambiance, and very attentive waiters. But the food was only so-so (and small portions), and the wine a little over-priced. All-in-all, it was an okay dinner, but we left a little disappointed, having expected better.

If you’re looking for delicious food, wonderful service and a relaxing atmosphere you need to go to Hugo’s. What more can say?

We were 4 for the early bird and it was beautiful. The restaurant itself looks pretty ordinary outside but the interior is really beautiful. As for the food, all plates were excellent, beautifully presented, and cooked to perfection. My dessert Apple crumble was the best I've ever had. The wine list is extensive but we had a beautiful casa roja at €32 really good. The staff are attentive and efficient without been intrusive. We really couldn't recommend this restaurant enough. Look forward to returning when in Dublin

Somebody suggested Hugo's and we could not be happier that we did. The atmosphere design is warm and a high level of cool unique design . We had the pleasure to meet the owner , Gina, and she is fabulous. She could not have been nicer.. as for the food we cleaned our plates. My wife and I have completely different appetites' and we were both blown away with the food ... and the service was exceptional too. We had a family wedding two days later and I passed on Hugo's to many friends that were hitting Dublin on their way home. I look forward to getting back to Dublin and I will for sure hit Hugo's again! Gina enjoys meeting visitors, bonus if your from Chicago!

Not being much of a fan of birthday celebrations, I was a little reticent at the prospect of marking my 50th but the planning and insistence of some family and close friends left little wriggle room for me to get out of it. And man am I glad they succeeded. Our party of 15 received the warmest welcome, with plenty of bubbles to soften my anxiety. The staff made a fuss of all of us, with a set menu to meet all our group's needs. With seamless service, our meals appeared and were cleared away as if by sorcery. Despite being a busy Friday night, the intimate nature of the dinning room was such that it felt as though we had the place to ourselves. Delicious food, excellent wines and fabulous company certainly made my birthday reluctance fade away, much like the last 50 years. Kudos to the team at Hugo's for an excellent night.
