Bidrage med feedbackWe have been visiting Doussard, Lake Annecy every summer since 2016 except 2021 due to Covid 19. In 2019 we found this little Bistrot in Duussard. From the outside it doesn’t look of much but we decided to give it a try as our landlord did recommend the place. Whauu, what a place! Simple but excellent local food prepared by a chef (owner) who really loves what he is doing. The waitress (the chef’s partner we assume) did a fantastic job taking care of the guests. Really a nice evening and at the same time very reasonable prices. We ended up eating there 3 times in the summer of 2019. Now back in 2021 and off course we went there again. Same story; great food, great atmosphere and great service. And again, ended up eating there 3 times. Tells all about this place and can only recommend visiting this lovely place but remember to book table as very popular guess why . Regards Jens
Having read some of the better reviews we decided to try Bistrot du Coin for an early evening meal. We were expecting traditional, authentic local food ...... sadly that didn’t happen for us. Service was average, prices were reasonable but we just didn’t come away thinking we would come again. Very disappointed.
Travelling in Europe mainly in France and Italy we have eaten in some wonderful restaurants and have had some excellent food. It is hard to fault the food that we had in this quite small but very vibrant restaurant. The evening started well when we read the comments in the menu concerning TripAdvisor reviews as it contained a request that if people had adverse comments to make they should take him up with Francoise (the owner of the restaurant) They should speak to him first and if they had complaints about the food there was a tub outside they could use! Let's just put it beyond doubt the food was so good we broke our rule and came back the following day rather than trying to go elsewhere. Take time to look at the photographs of the food he has prepared on the website and in TripAdvisor reports they are accurate, and they are a delight. The restaurant has been approved by the Association Francaise des Maitres Restaurateurs. It was a first-class meal on both occasions the first day the restaurant and bar was very full just as you would expect a good local restaurant to be popular with the locals. I have to say I would go out of my way to travel to this restaurant and I would put at least 50 kilometres onto a journey simply for the quality of the food. I have looked at what other Trip Advisor contributors have said about the Restaurant with either terrible, poor, or average reviews. I have to say you can safely ignore them in every respect the Association (above) of which Francois, the owner is a member will want to keep up their standards. We have now adopted the Association Guide as a poor man's Michelin Guide. On occasions when we have eaten in Michelin starred restaurants, we can say set this spot has surpassed a few of them. Don't ever doubt this is anything other than a good place to go we would hope Francoise will not open another restaurant other than to expand his business, for it is him and his skill in the kitchen that for our purposes have made this a special visit. He cannot duplicate his skills in more than one kitchen at the same time! My heartiest congratulations to him on making our visit so memorable.
We visited with friends who are staying in the area for Summer. 4 people, 3 carnivores and 1 veggie (me) the food and wine were amazing, everyone enjoyed it and seriously, the Roquefort mousse for a starter was incredible. A great dining experience you won't be disappointed
Situated in Doussard, a pretty, quiet village. Friendly locals. Great food at a reasonable price with regional specialties to try. Recommend trying the tartiflette
