Kontiki - Dering Harbor

We rolled in for some drinks and a small bite to eat and we were amazed by the decoration of the place and the Drinks are something special at this place. We had a soup dumplings appetizer that was delicious. Every bite and sip is a party in your mouth. Service was excellent. It was a pleasure to meet Mark, the bartender. Props to your drinks. My wife and I had a really great anniversary dinner here, It is such a hidden gem! I wanted to try almost everything on the menu, the dragon salad was one of my favorites. Service and staff was very accomodating. We will go back many times! Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner

We ate here a couple weeks ago and it was delicious! The portions are not big but the food was perfectly prepared and filling and the setting was charming. Also a nice change from the typical restaurant. Recommend! Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner

Great food, great atmosphere, friendly staff, would recommend to try for sure. Cocktail list is solid, I enjoyed the apps more then the entrees.

Update: I absolutely loved Kontiki in its old form, so I had high hopes for the reboot down the street. I finally got around to visiting the new location last week for a late dinner with my parents. The space is unique and beautiful inside and out, and I love that they have ample outdoor seating. (Ever since the Village of Greenport voted to get rid of the pandemic-era parklets /street seating, there are not a lot of restaurants with comfortable al fresco dining. We all ordered cocktails. They took a long time to arrive, but were VERY good- complex, boozy, generously sized, and gorgeously presented in great tiki mugs. Unfortunately, everything after the drinks was pretty lackluster: Bangkok corn: Tasty enough but I feel like an assh*le for paying over $20 for two half-ears of corn Soup dumplings: decent, but served in such a way that they stuck to the basket and ripped when you tried to spoon them out, spilling the liquid contents. (In Chinatown I think they use some waxed paper underneath to prevent this. Bao: These are the open /folded style bao. We had the Long Island duck banh mi version, which was nice and balanced. Korean lolipops: The sauce/seasoning on these was pleasant but texture of the chicken was gross. Not sure if this was a quality or cooking issue. Fried rice: We had one with duck and one with short rib. The duck seemed to be the same seasoning, etc., as the duck in the bao, and we liked it. The short rib version was for some reason much spicier and more kimchi-forward, which not everyone liked, and all of us found the texture and quality of the short rib itself to be lacking. All in all this was a disappointing and very expensive meal in a nice setting. I may come for a cocktail or two again, but will probably skip the food entirely next time.
