Good ole fashioned down home good for soul food!!!!! I ordered the veggie plate with cornbread and have no complaints I had potato salad; black eyed peas; candies yams; and Lima beans and it was all excellent and generous portions. Hubster has the stewed chicken which he said was delish and collards and Mac n cheese the only negative I could say and it wasn't a deal breaker by any means is for me personally as hubby didn't agree the Mac n Cheese was slightly on the salty side! I had apple cobbler for desert hubster had hummingbird cake which he scarfed down. Lol. The place is small and quaint with a visual to the kitchen where you see the family that owns it cooking it the way your Mom would have with fresh ingredients and love. I will be back woohoo!
The owner and her family all make my husband and I feel so welcome each time we come in. We typically order it to go and I always enjoy catching up with them while waiting on our fresh fried chicken to be cooked. It's the best fried chicken I've ever had! So juicy and moist! Their sweet tea and lemonade is very southern (sweet) and just perfect. We love supporting their local business and family and appreciate the love they pour into our food each time. They make you feel like you're a part of their family. Highly recommend!
Went to this place at noon on Saturday. Restaurant was open, went in, and no one there. Called out, and received no answer. No one eating or in sight. There were 3 other restaurants next to this one, and all were busy. This was a sign to me that there were good reasons not to eat at this place.
Great soul food and excellent service! We had fried chicken, stew beef, and chicken tenders. Mac and cheese was ok. Potato salad was different, but very good. BlackBerry cobbler and banana pudding were also good.
