Good taste and quantity but too expensive for me (clubsandwich CHF 29)
The fondue was not bad, although 35 CHF for cheese and some old bread is a bit excessive. It's in a cellar with a lot of pontential. When we arrived, we were welcomed by two nice waiters (a brazilian girl and an italian guy) but suddenly an old guy (he looked the manager) appeared and he ruined our meal. He was rude and said that they only wanted customers if they could get over 100CHF per person. Never seen such a rude guy in a restaurant. Hope he wins the lottery and stops spoiling this place.
My wife and I and her parents ate here in late December after a day of skiing. As it was our first dinner in Switzerland, we went for the cheese fondue, save for Dad who had the beef, but the fondue was the star of the show. For the price, I was a little surprised we only got bread and some potatoes with it, but it was damn good! The server was very nice and friendly, but they were definitely understaffed as she was only one of two working and the other appeared to be just learning. We ate early too, before the 8 pm rush arrived, and they definitely struggled to get to our table as often as they wanted to. She apologized for this, and it didn't affect our experience. The room is nice, it is deep in the basement of the Postli Hotel, definitely a cave-like atmosphere. Overall, not bad, pretty decent food, expensive, nice service but understaffed.
We found this restaurant completely by chance on our last night in Switzerland ! The portions were large, and very satisfying! Although the menu is a bit misleading when it comes to pricing on the fondues. It says “fondue starting at 2 people” and then mentions a price. Many would automatically assume that means the price for two people. This is really the price PER PERSON. My husband and I have traveled often in Switzerland and figured that was the case. If you are wondering- ASK BEFORE YOU ORDER! Otherwise you’ll be in for a big surprise when the bill comes. The service was very friendly, and we loved the design of the restaurant. The night we dined there we were the only people on the restaurant for the first half of our dinner, which leaves you wondering if you made the right choice.. All in all, the restaurant made pretty tasty fondue, the service was friendly, and the ambience of the restaurant made one feel welcome.
