The Oaks Of Darfield

My husband and I enjoyed the winter package deal at this restaurant with Hamish. We decided to stay the night, as it was my birthday, and invited a few friends to join us for dinner. The old house was charming and cozy, and we had a delicious meal. The Chef successfully catered to our dietary restrictions, with one guest being vegetarian and another gluten-free. We spent the evening chatting around the fire, and the next morning enjoyed a peaceful breakfast. My husband loved the cooked breakfast, while I enjoyed the pastries. It was a lovely way to spend a winter weekend, and I highly recommend it. Hamish provided excellent service throughout our stay.

I was thinking to find an accommodation after I arrived Christchurch. Lucky I stopped over and started to search nearby at Darfield. It turned out that I’m the only guest tonight. I like old-fashioned country type house. The interior are quite classic, clean, cozy and well-equipped. Yet it’s enjoyable to see sunset and sunrise.

We were a party of 4 and all enjoyed our meals of various starters and mains. There is a wonderful, cosy atmosphere and the service is attentive without being overbearing. Recommend to all!

I recently attended a 70th birthday celebration at this restaurant. The venue was excellent, the meal was delicious, and the service was great. I stayed the night and found the accommodations to be very comfortable and warm. In the morning, I enjoyed a fresh fruit salad and croissants for breakfast. I would definitely recommend this place to others.

Stayed one night and had dinner and breakfast. Relaxed old world atmosphere. Clean and tidy. Food was famtastic.
