99 Restaurants - Cromwell

Last night of the Lobster Roll special...ordered one to go. When I got home I couldn't believe the poor quality of the meal. Nice To-Go bag but that was it. The box had a regular sized toasted hot dog roll with lettuce. The lobster salad was in a separate container and the amount was sparse. The lobster meat was fresh and tasty but... The coleslaw was mediocre and the fries had been placed in the box and were very countable. The extra broccoli/cheese soup looked good and ended up in the fridge. The taste of dessert was miniscule. The $30+ price was inexcusable. What a rip off! I know the photos in the ads rarely look like the product but this one must have been taken with a magnifying glass.

I don't normally review chain but This was not good. Fried mozz greasy and cold. Clam chowder flavorless. The gold fever wings WAYYY over cooked. The kid chicken parm she didn't even want to eat it. And my wife's steak was the land seasoning completely forgot. I think I'll take a world class pass on this place again. And to think this was one of the ones I credited as being a better 99 to go to.

Unfortunately, this location has gone down hill slowly over the past couple months. Perhaps the management is less enthusiastic than needed, or maybe the wait staff just lacks ambition to make customers happy, but all in all, when my gift cards are gone I will no longer be eating here. The kitchen continually either undercooks or overcooks the food. THE MASHED POTATOES ARE GROSS. They leave the skins in the potatoes, which is the laziest way to make potatoes EVER! the chicken is tough as nails, and the fish is freezer burnt. Time to hire a chef in the kitchen 99! Also, the wait staff is aloof. Aside from the normal waitstaff problems, this waitstaff is slow, and pushes for orders without allowing time to read the menu, and then when the food comes; poof they disappear and are not to be seen again except when it is too late. When we cashed out, a manager was needed for the gift cards, then he just stood there behind the girl at the register staring like a statue. It was very creepy! He could have said hello. Or how was your meal, or was everything to your liking?? Something! Anything! How creepy.

Enjoyed really good steak tips at 99 Restaurant in Cromwell, CT this afternoon. My waitress Rachel was very nice and had everything prepared just the way I like, tips medium with double rice pilaf, side of blue cheese and seltzer. Free popcorn included, what more could you want! Just a good quality meal.

All I can say is terrible. Our waitress was extremely rude and disrespectful. She came to the table a total of 2 times we didn't even know her name. And the manager Joey was a d*ck to say the least. Our food was wrong and cold and no one came to check up on us or take the food back. we Got charged for something we didn't even order and the waitress wasn't even there to talk to. She dropped the check off without a word and walked away. That was by far the worse service I have ever gotten and I will not be coming back Here. On a not at all busy night that was ridiculous l. I got better service at the McDonald's in new Britain
