This restaurant is lovely....the patron chef Salvino prepares excellent dishes. The wines also great. Staff and service excellent. You must make it a point to visit for a meal you will not be disappointed best to get a taxi there and back a bit hard to find otherwise... it's about the only redeeming feature of our visit to Cosenza... Complimenti Salvino!!!

We had read several reviews before eating at Salvino, so we were expecting a leisurely dinner and that 's what we had! If you 're in a hurry, go somewhere else. If you want a nice meal, well prepared food and a lovely setting, go here. The staff were very friendly. The service was good.We don 't eat a lot of meat, so we opted for 3 primi dishes for the two of us plus dessert. This was certainly plenty of food. We had a pasta dish with white truffles. We 've had better in the Piedmont area of Italy, but it was good. The other two dishes were excellent: a rich and tasty baked dish with eggplant, tomatoes and cheese and a "pacheri pasta filled with bits of tuna. So good! Our chocolate dessert was great too. Nice wine, nice ambiance. We recommend it (as long as you 're not in a rush!

This restaurant is a must do if in Cosenza! We found it quite by accident while driving around the city! It was my husbands 65 th B-day and based on the reviews we went! We were not disappointed! This restaurant could not have been better for a quiet celebration! My husband is Italian and can speak so-so Calabrese; he was able to figure out the menu with help fr the maître d! She was amazing and just wanted us to experience the good food of the region!after some discussion he discovered they had tripe on the menu, which his father used to make when he was a kid! We enjoyed the meal so much; of course my husband ordered the tripe, I went with the recommendation of a specialty of the house! The house wine is great, we were served B- day cake ,nice touch!
