Tamarind Tree

During our visit to the different monuments in Hampi, our rickshaw driver recommended this restaurant for lunch. Surrounded by trees, it felt like a small oasis in the midst of everything. The restaurant offers both À-la-carte and a fixed menu (Tali style). We opted for the feast menu because it was readily available. The meal was a simple, home-cooked dish that was not greasy or overly spicy. It was a comforting meal to have after a busy day of sightseeing.

After visiting the Vitthala Temple, our driver suggested this restaurant for some refreshments. We were so impressed by the natural surroundings that we decided to have our lunch there. The banana flower curry on the Tamarind tree was exceptional and the food overall was delicious. The restaurant is clean and well-run by the owners. It was a wonderful experience to enjoy a meal surrounded by nature. We would love to visit again.

After exploring the sights of Hampi, our guide took us to Tamarinde Tree for a refreshing break. Situated near the temple ruins in a peaceful garden setting, the restaurant was bustling with guests. We found ourselves seated at a long community table, where beer seemed to be the popular choice among patrons. Unfortunately, many of the non-alcoholic drinks listed on the menu were unavailable, and it took a while for our fresh juice and lassi to arrive. The service was impersonal and slow, with the staff appearing overwhelmed by the busy atmosphere. While the prices seemed high, we felt somewhat trapped as there were limited dining options in the area. Overall, our experience at Tamarinde Tree left us feeling underwhelmed and wishing we had chosen a different spot for our meal.

Lunch. Nothing too special, though they say that their South Indian Thali is good what we found to be okay. What I loved most about the place is cozy seating, peacock on the background along with rabbits and some small birds...in the cage surrounded by green trees around

It was a hot afternoon and after all the walking Tamarind Tree was a Cool haven. The food was delicious. The service was done with a smile The toilet is kept clean. Would recommend this place to one and all.
