False advertising. Price on the shelf shows one thing and then when you check out they magically change. I have noticed this for a few months on beer but what has set me over the edge to post this is I went to grab a 20 Oz. Coke and they only had 16.5Oz. Look at the sticker and it states that a 20 Oz. (I specifically looked at how many ounce that the sticker stated) Is $2.29 for 1, or 2 for $4. Since there was a discrepancy in the label to the product I grabbed I wanted to ensure I wasn 't gonna pay that much as I wasn 't receiving the full 20 oz. I get to the register and it rings up as 16.5 oz 2 for $4. I asked, is that the correct price for the 16.5 oz? And I was informed it was. This post isn 't to complain about the cost of products. Pine knob is welcome to charge what they like. My issue is that the shelf sticker says one thing and the register is always more and with people just swiping cards it is easy to not notice the scam. Watch the prices people or just avoid this scam.EDIT: since google wont let me respond i 'll add to the end here. if that is the real reason then that is fine but do your due diligence and update the shelf label to reflect the 16.9 oz bottle so the label is correct. also what is the reason that the label on the 24 pack of budlight is the incorrect price? it isnt a recent price increase because i have been noticing it for minimum 2 months and have informed the person running the register before. one time they honored the shelf price and the second time the lady just told me the price is what it is . that statement is true but it would be great if you advertised price on the product truly was the price that range up at the register. kroger could never get away with these business practices
They have the best wine and whiskey selection in the area. I love this store.
So, I went into this wine shoppe for my first time in a long time since this was the only place open within my area having gotten off work pretty late. Well, I went in to get a six pack of cherry wheat Sam Adam 's beer for my husband and I, and the cashier guy (Saturday Dec 10) refused to sell to me, accusing me of being under the influence. I had just gotten off a long night at work, and was so confused/dumbfounded, asking him why he even thought that, and he couldn 't even give me an answer or tell me why..? he just said he thinks I 'm drinking and asked me if I was driving which of course I was, just getting off work. I had done nothing disruptive or out of sorts AT ALL. I walked in, grabbed the beer and went up to the counter. I was on the phone with my husband to ask him what beer he wanted in the store, and he witnessed this whole conversation as well. I was so confused I just said okay and left. I did not have the energy to defend whatsoever because I was exhausted and just wanted a couple beers for home. I ended up going to the Mobile gas station not far from there to continue my purchase elsewhere. Not only was this guy wrong and out of place, I felt like I was being rejected at a late hour purchasing a six pack of beer because I 'm a woman...not liquor, not wine, a 5% pack of beer. So the accusation of being under the influence Is really laughable.. Sure, if I had been under the influence and walked in there and caused a disruption, broke a bottle of something, dropped something or whatever then yes there would be merit to deny me a purchase and that would have been fine and understood, and I wouldn 't be writing this review. BUT there was absolutely no reason to refuse me a purchase and I 'm so embarrassed to have had this experience, being accused of something like this. I really do not like to resort to leaving negative reviews, In fact I usually don 't even having a bad experience, but this has been the first time being so embarrassed by an employee for literally no reason. Definitely feel like this guy just wanted a power trip. I do not recommend this place whatsoever. Get your beer elsewhere, preferably Kroger since it 's cheaper and they don 't baselessly accuse you and discriminate if you 're a woman.
