Unfortunately, the meals here were one of the worst meals in pub style we have experienced. we saw that some larger groups have served some of their dishes too early and they ended their meal before the rest of the table was served. our meal times came together to the happiness. I had the bone steak with veggies. the steak was average, the cauliflower was boiled at the raw limit. my partner ordered the chicken carving, the portion size was comparable to a child meal. we both couldn't taste, the huh at all was probably frozen and groomed instead of fresh. a little salt and pepper that it is a little, but not. read more
The beef cut with the seafood upgrade. what should I say? thin, long, well cooked. chips were nice and crispy. salat was fresh with a creamy dressing. that I said myself with a garlic bread star, I was looking for something more at the end.
My man and I have dined this week at the clare hotel and enjoyed a great food and fab service. it was brilliant to have an salatable with delicious salads and crustrated fresh rolls. my man had the seafood plate- extremely delicious fresh seafood and. very generous food. I had the grilled scotchfilet and it was nice. the service was great. we will be back soon - a really nice eating and culinary experience.
Good open dining room very popular on this special Saturday night), friendly staff, nice meals, good prices and decent size served. they had a list of $12 specials that I thought could have been a reduced size, but the fish and chips of my wife were 2... pieces I had the well dimensioned bark carvings $19) with mushroom sauce and could not even finish it. chips could do with something work, but all in all it was a good meal. good old fashion, typical country pub really.
Visit this hotel often for meals. at our last visit were the meals not on the standard. wife ordered chicken pie and chips and I ordered ham steak and pineapple with chips. the chicken pie tasted more like bark meat and the color was dark. like bark meat, she didn't have her chips, because she cooked half (sociable) and tasted like they just came out of the freezer. my ham steak was half cooked and the chips were as mentioned above. the kitchen staff might need a shake. go to another hotel that we recommend.
