I spent half an hour looking for a place that serves roast pork before I finally found this spot. The reviews weren't great, but I decided to give it a shot anyway. I'm so glad I did! It was the best roast pork I've had in a long time—perfectly salty and flavorful, just the way I like it. The rice was fresh and delicious, and I'm kicking myself for not ordering a larger portion of the beans; they were incredibly tasty!
When you order food here, the staff often gives you an attitude and rushes you. The music is so loud that you have to yell to be heard. Usually, the fries are either burned or so dry that they’re difficult to chew. Today, I ordered mondongo, and it was disgusting—salty and tasted like vinegar. The waitstaff only seem to pay attention to the men sitting at the bar, making you feel like you're bothering them when you try to place an order. This place used to be great, but now it feels like a dump. Today was my last time ordering from here.
The food here is excellent. I usually order the chicharrón de puerco, which is sold by the pound, along with yuca. It's absolutely delicious. While the rest of the dishes are very flavorful, they can be quite greasy. Their mofongo is also fantastic!
It's a cozy little restaurant with limited indoor seating, but the food is absolutely delicious.
