I used Due Amici as my caterer for my wedding at Johnsons Locust Hall. I have nothing but positive things to say about my experience working with them. They also offered two food tastings, the first to try the overall menu and the second to narrow down our choices for the wedding. Erika truly thought of every detail for our day and did not miss a beat. She was great to work with, extremely friendly and thorough throughout the planning experience and very present on our wedding day whenever we needed anything. Celeste was also working at our wedding, and she did a great job as well. This includes parents of the bride and groom as well as anyone in the bridal party. Not only was the service amazing, but so was the food! They were also very flexible in a request for a last minute menu change for the salad, and also super accommodating to anyone with a dietary restrictions (we had guests with celiac, vegan, vegetarian, and nut allergies). We even had some extra food for last minute guests that backed out, and we got to take home all the extra food. My wedding day was absolutely perfect, and I have Due Amici to thank for that. We used this company for our wedding because we had a choice between 5 vendors at estate at eagle lake . The owner and sales team pitched they’d handle anything that came up. They pitched us an extensive wedding package that marketed them as wedding planners with an outstanding delivery. They told me I’d have someone waiting on me at the wedding as an attendant. When the day came it was raining and the owner who said he could handle anything completely floundered. He didn’t handle anything in fact he had his own anxiety and came to me about what to do. This happened multiple times. It was stressful. I did not have an attendant consistent and my attendant rarely could be found. My husband and I also didn’t have anyone bring us the appetizers or the desserts. We wished they would’ve been packaged up. So we missed out on most of the meal. It seemed the company’s focus was about the guests and their food.I would say the food is very good here and the guests were happy with their experience. however they shouldn’t have promoted themselves as a wedding planners if the food and guests were a focus. I called the owner the day after the wedding and he was defensive and furious at me. He told me I had my own problems I should deal with. I share this review if you are looking for a place that does food well than they do. However the delivery of their wedding planning services was not executed 4 years ago. They’ve since told me there is a new owner. Maybe things have changed. The reason why I’m responding 4 years after is because Covid happened and I had multiple chronic illnesses I was dealing wit. I also wanted to be clear with my review and my opinion still stands 4 years later. There is no time frame on a review. I hope others have a better experience but if you are someone with special needs or looking for delivery of wedding planning services you might want to look else where. Erica the phone call with you was difficult. You came on the call already telling me a google review would hurt your business before you even listened to me share my experience. It felt you were more about protecting your company than listening. This is good customer service. You mentioned people thanked you at the wedding. Our guests were happy. That’s not the point. You did a great job executing the food and guest services. My concerns were with myself being the bride. Regarding the the ice packs that’s negligible. What happened and was listed in my husbands review before is exactly my experience: “They market themselves as “wedding coordinator that will make your wedding planning seamless” and they failed to deliver in that regard! The sold my wife “The Dream” and failed to deliver. “ this is not going above and beyond to advocate for someone’s needs. My husband stated this. He is a different person and its not helpful to gaslight a customer who’s had a bad experience. It’s better to evaluate what you can do differently versus keep convincing the client that you were all exceptional. The food was great but the wedding services pitched did not have follow through at that time. Hopefully you made changes since 2019 but by the way you are responding to my concerns I’m not sure. I hope this post might help a person evaluate clearly the delivery of this company AND the way you handle concerns. It would’ve been much more helpful to take a loss, ask how you could do things differently and make changes for the future or eliminate services that are not executed well. Instead you have blamed me yet again without asking about how you could do things differently. I hung up the phone because you kept talking over me and telling me that you all did the best job and did not want to hear otherwise. I have no problem having difficult conversations. However, I do have boundaries.
Had our first visit to Due Amici yesterday and it unfortunately will probably be our last. The food just doesn't stand out; we make better dishes at home. It seemed as if the kitchen hardly tried with the dishes we ordered. I give respect to whoever cooked the scallops because they were cooked perfectly but my Veal was sub par as was the risotto. Our server was barely attentive to say the least which I usually understand but there were only 8-10 cars in the parking lot. Maybe we caught a bad day here?
I love the food here! My three year old daughter is super picky and she begs me to get food here 24/7! The service is always amazing and the food is delicious! The waiters and waitresses are always very friendly! I would recommend this to anyone who wants Italian food! The decorations are beautiful too! Overall I really enjoy everything about this restaurant!
