Bidrage med feedbackThe highlight was the squid ink pasta, it's all I've been thinking about since trying this place for the first time. The beef cheek gnocchi was good but slightly under seasoned and the gnocchi was too soft like potato mash, had no chew or bite to it. The beef cheek was really beautiful. The staff was lovely at the restaurant but no one food checked. I had to cancel an earlier booking because my friend's flight was delayed due to a car accident. I emailed few hours before asking for it to be moved and didn't hear back so I called at 5pm and Sarah was really helpful. Turns out a staff member did move my booking but didn't reply to my email which I think was kind of poor as it doesn't take long to confirm that the booking was rescheduled. Other than that, I can see why Francesca's is highly rated by people and I would go back.

Wonderful Italian cuisine in the heart of Christchurch. Cosy ‘bistro’ ambience, with a wood-fired oven for Neapolitan style pizzas. We loved our pastas and the market fish of the day.
So happy that I found this place during our trip for my pasta craving. Both pizza and pasta were really good
It used to be best Italian restaurant in South Island and we used to go there regularly, it even had dedicated vegan menu under previous management. Now it’s an average place with always same never changing menu and almost nothing to chose from if you are vegan. Out of all options pizza is decent as it’s freshly and properly baked in oven. Wine options are quite good too.
