Bidrage med feedbackI decided to try the Massaman curry (beef) after reading the food description. Unfortunately, the $14.90 price tag (including card surcharge) was not worth it for the three pieces of beef that were full of fat and gristle. Even 'slow braising' couldn't fix the tough meat. The 'sweet potato' in the dish was overcooked and mushy. I ended up having to purchase another dish from elsewhere to satisfy my hunger. It's a shame because most of the other restaurants in Spice Alley are great. While the street food here is a bit overpriced, it won't break the bank and the bustling atmosphere is a fun experience. My advice would be to avoid this particular restaurant.
This restaurant is bustling on Saturday nights and is perfect for families, although it is unclear what happens to the outdoor dining areas in case of rain. I highly suggest trying the Salt and Pepper Squid, Stir Fried Crispy Pork Belly, and Hokkien Noodles with Cashews.
I will not be dining at this restaurant again after witnessing the girl working behind the counter with a runny nose. She continuously wiped her nose with her hands while serving customers and preparing food, without washing her hands. This lack of basic hygiene means that the food she touched likely had snot on it. It would be wise for the staff to be educated on proper hygiene practices.
I've never had average Pad Thai before but that is what I was served at Bang Luck. The chicken was fine but the squid was also tasteless. We ate at Bang Luck the day after Easter so perhaps they were just having a bad night.
The title says it all. The Tom Yum fried rice was awesome. I got it with king prawns and while there were 4 prawns in it, I thought the serving overall was still really generous. Yummy, cheap, quick service and a full tummy...what more could you ask for. Hot tip: I reckon it would be worth giving the chicken a go.
