Owen's Bistro - Chino

I wanted to like this place so badly, but for the price point and service, it just wasn’t it and didn’t hit. The ribeye was flavorful and brown butter mashed potatoes were tasty, but the ribeye steak still was sad looking with three baby halved potatoes. I told the server I couldn’t eat raw meat due to my health condition and asked for the steak to be medium. We also ordered the rack of lamb, which we were not asked how we’d like it cooked. It was served to me pretty raw and when I mentioned it to the server, he was trying to convince me that it was cooked even though I couldn’t cut through the meat and it was pretty raw inside. They took it back to cook it more on the grill and then it was actually cooked. Major turnoff. Our busser was much more friendly and attentive than our expressionless/emotionless server. For almost a $200 meal, there are so many other places we would rather try or spend our money.

Outstanding food service . My wife and I spent our 11th anniversary last night. Dennis and Owen are fantastic. Highly recommend this restaurant. Try it you’ll love it . We had the Caping Trip. ? it’s salmon in a bed of spinach with a unbelievable glaze on top.

Hidden Gem! Food is amazing, as well as the service! Love the atmosphere here. Can't wait to come back!!

We went to Owen’s Bistro last Saturday to celebrate a family birthday. This was the first visit for all of us. It was highly recommended by the Anaheim White House so we gave it a try. So glad we did bc it was exceptionally good from the drinks we ordered to dessert!The staff were friendly attentive but didn’t hover over us. Overall a great experience! If you haven’t tried it, please do. You’ll be glad you did.

Overrated.Unfortunately, our dinner experience was not the same as the higher ratings.We wanted to like this family owned restaurant. But it didn’t happen. steak was not worth $50 pasta primavera rate 2s. Not tasty and very little chicken. No flavor. Not worth $36! desert was the only thing that was tasty and worth it. (They don’t disclose price. service was slow and the restaurant was not busy. Why did we wait almost 20 mins? Positive: environment is very nice. Great location in Old Chino. Quiet. positive: friendly staff.Finally, if the service is slow why did our waiter expect a 24% tip? The waiter selected 24% for us! And the customer has to change to 18% or 20%.Why do waiters select the highest tip at 24%?Let the customer decide?If the food was better and service not slow then maybe.Conclusion:Overrated.Over priced.Not worth it.
