Piccolo Mondo - Chicago

The food was decent but the service was HORRIBLE. A friend and I made a reservation for 6:30 pm. We were not seated until 7. Then waited for the main course for at least an hour. We tried waving them over for the dessert menu and the waiter saw us and literally just turned around. Finally he came and when he did he ROLLED HIS EYES. I am not exaggerating. And then asked us what we wanted in a very aggressive manner. I am sitting here waiting for him to come at the moment so we could get the cheque and it is now 8:45. No one came to fill out water even though we finished our water within the first hour (we did not have any food for the first hour the wait time was just that long). Really horrible experience. No food is worth waiting 2+ hours for. I suspect it's because we didn't look rich enough or white enough or whatever. Do not come here.

Fantastic food and exceptional servers. It had been a while since my last visit but I was pleased to have the same great experience!

This is a true hidden jewel in the city. We were able to take the metra train from our South Loop home and walk a short distance sitting out doors for a most beautiful 51st anniversary dinner. The food is excellent, the staff outstanding and considerate of our timing for the return train. The price point is extremely low for the quality of the restaurant! We will certainly be returning!

I love everything about this place. It's in the cut (blink and you'll miss it) neighborhood walk, the wine and the food is great. Staff were kind and very informative.

Large graduation party and we were very well taken care of. The food was extremely flavourful. Definitely dine here...
