Bidrage med feedbackWe have been to Bella' Gio once before and it was a fine experience; however, this time was different. The restaurant was some what busy, but it didn't seem packed. We placed our order, and had to wait 45 minutes to receive our meal. Once we finished the meal, the server came over and asked if we needed a box, and we said yes. It took probably 20 minutes to get a box, and during that wait, 2-3 servers saw us waiting and asked us if we needed a box. This became very frustrating because it still took 20 minutes to get a box after multiple employees came over to ask. The food was ok, but we were not impressed with the service.
The food was delicious and the portions very generous. I had the green apple salad with salmon and the piece of salmon was huge and very good. I enjoyed every bite. The only negative issue we had today was we were there at noon for lunch when they opened and ate outside and they just started to mow the lawn as people were eating. That was pretty annoying as it was loud and dusty.
As someone who's been to Bella' Gio several times and never had a bad experience, I was surprised to see only a 3-star rating. My most recent visit was this past weekend, and as always, everything was great! I'll first mention the layout of the restaurant... While they have plenty of seating inside, I always opt to sit outside on the back patio. They actually have a covered upper-patio area that's under a cabana, and then a lower-patio area that has tables umbrellas. There's also a fire pit on the lower-patio. It's really a beautiful place to sit and relax! I've always found the food to be very good. Not the best Italian food I've ever had, but good. The portion sizes are fairly large too. This past time I ordered the Chicken Francese, which came with mashed potatoes and mixed vegetables on the side. It was delicious! I found the waiter to be pleasant and the service to be pretty quick. Judging from other reviews it seems that the service has been an issue in the past, but perhaps they've hired more staff members and it has improved. Overall a great Italian spot in Cheshire!
Our group had a reservation, were promptly seated and our drinks came quickly. Our meals were delicious but delayed and the sides did not come with our meal and we had to request them. After finishing our meal and paying our bill we were then asked to leave the table because someone had been waiting for THAT particular table where the five of us were dining. There were tables available elsewhere. At 75 years old and having never been subjected to such an experience, I hope it is my last as I will not ever return to this restaurant.
I've been twice in the last year with my mom and she's been with my dad on a few occasions, and every experience has been disappointing. We're rarely there at peak times; the last time, there were maybe three other tables in the dining room and a total of no more than ten people. The service is always incredibly slow, the food is often not very flavorful, and my dad even reported receiving room-temperature soup and no effort to remedy the situation. We got a waitress and her trainee once and one of them was so loud that trying to talk to her was remarkably unpleasant. All of us have worked in food service in our careers, so we're the first to give multiple chances, but based on these recent experiences, we won't be back again.
