Sakura Spring - Cherry Hill

Sakaura Spring has been open a long time; I believe more the 20 years. There have been many Chinese and Asian Fusion restaurants that have come and gone in Cherry Hill over the years but Sakura Spring continues to stay strong in a very competitive market. We were here for a small family gathering recently. Sakura Spring is a fairly large restaurant with two dining rooms, a sushi bar and a also party room that holds about 50 for parties and functions. The restaurant has been remodeled recently and it does not look like your typical Chinese restaurant. It is warm, sophisticated and immaculately clean. The menu is also fairly large with Chinese, Japanese and Thai dishes. Sakura also has some interesting seasonal specials. I am not a big sushi or sashimi lover but from time to time we do order their Spider Roil, Volcano Roll, or their Rock Roll (Blacken tuna inside topped with spicy tuna crunch). All of these have been very good. We usually get their Vietnamese spring rolls, and though not exactly like one would get in a Vietnamese restaurant, they are still very tasty. Sakura's fish and seafood has always been both fresh and reasonably priced. Sakura Spring definitely serves fusion style or somewhat Americanized Asian food but there is nothing wrong with that when it is done well and that they most certainly do. The portions are large and we always order family style. Two main courses and an appetizer usually satisfy my wife, my daughter and myself. Service has always been very attentive and friendly. The food always comes out fast and hot. 4.5 yelp stars from me.

I went for sushi rolls during weekday lunch. Service was good. Sushi was good. As I was pouring the soy sauce on the table into my sauce dish, I see something came out with it. A fly was dead in the soy sauce! Called the waiter and showed him. He said it came out from the bottle? And made a face. Took the sauce bottle and walked to the back. He walked back with the plastic container with soy sauce in it. Well, that doesn 't mean it 's clean either. At that time, I just lost my appetite. The server just moved on like nothing happened.

Beautifully decorated and exceptionally clean. The server was very quiet and not very attentive until the end of the dinner. I heard he was new, so let's give him more time to work on his skills. The meals were all huge. We all took home the leftovers and there was enough for an entire meal. 2 of us, had hot and sour soup which was exceptional. The crispy noodles were fried to perfection. We'll give it another visit

We stopped in for some grub on a Sunday before going to the movies. The place was completely empty (I am always leery of an empty place at lunch). Carol and a friend had eaten here before and said it was great. We sat done were handed menus and he waiter immediately asked if we were ready to order. I didn 't even open the menus.. we 'll need a few minutes . The waiter proceeded to stalk us. When it was time to order. I asked about the triple tuna roll. Is it good? He starred at me for a few seconds and said order it and find out .. Yeah .. that didn 't help at all. .. When the food came it was overwhelming the portion sizes are huge. The triple tuna roll was AMAZING.. We ate all we could stuff in our body 's and brought the rest home. Great place for sushi. Not sure about the rest of the grub. Don 't ask the staff for suggestion their not much help.. If you know what you like you 'll fine.

Now this is a place I would gladly spend my hard earned money! The moment you walk in the door, you know you are welcomed, respected, and appreciated. The hostess is super friendly and accommodating. It's clean and elegant inside, and my son loved the glass waterfall by the entrance. Our waiter was excellent- attentive and very thoughtful. The food came out hot and fresh, and our meals were delicious with filling portions. There are many options on the menu, and I can't wait to try more food items in the future! The employees here are so kind, and they go the extra mile for their customers. Thank you guys for the awesome dining experience! UPDATE: Just a quick update to say that since writing this review, we've been back many times and continue to be very impressed by the quality of their food. We try new dishes and each one rivals the deliciousness of the previous one. We have brought family members/visitors to the Cherry Hill area here, and they have always commented about just how impressed they are.
