Bidrage med feedbackWe were at Andi Oliver’s book launch about her traditional cooking , there were 165 covers all being served at more or less the same time and you could tell as everything was overcooked or dried out , there was also a “service” charge added to our bottle of wine, the girl didn’t know how to do it without……they didn’t pour the wine so no actual “service” we were lucky enough to have a banquet seat but others were perched on barstools on small high tables !
This place looks like nothing from the outside, but step inside and wow! It’s lovely. We went for dinner and took our dog with us. Fortunately they allow dogs in the bar area. There were about 4 tables and we were seated furthest from the bar (see photo) On arrival, we helped ourselves to a couple of dog treats whilst we stood at the bar. They very kindly brought us a mat for our dog to lay on by the table and a bowl of water. Service was good but a little on the slow side. Staff were very friendly though. We both had the mushrooms to start which were lovely and then we had the fillet steak. Mine had a little too many fatty areas for my liking but it was well cooked and the chips were lush. We both finished the meal with the plate of chocolate. Chocolate lovers will enjoy this very much!
One of the best bottomless brunches I have been to. The drinks flowed from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. Excellent food, service and entertainment, I would highly recommend.
It was so horrendous it became funny before we got up and left. Service was terrible, drinks were meant to be bottomless, we waited 45 minutes before we got what they call a martini. It was bright pink, very sugary and undrinkable. No one had more than a sip. We were palmed off with a white wine which was like water. The Abba act was only two women, thought Abba was a foursome. The dark haired lady could not have been less interested always behind in the dancing and clearly miming when she could be bothered to even more her lips. Total shambles I thought I had been transported back to a Butlins camp in the 70’s without the fun. Shocking so we left.
Couple in 50's touring Cotswolds. Pre booked this restaurant for a Monday evening...a little worried it would be too quiet and without atmosphere... But the Daffodil does what it says it does...excellent food, service and environment is beautiful. Over half full and lovely atmosphere. It was our 25th Wedding Anniversary and the handsome young man looking after us made us feel very welcome and special thank you. It should also be about the food starters of scallops, cheese soufflé, mains of monkish and beef medallions puddings high quality. Our view is that the staff, including the kitchen team obviously, provided a 100% satisfying experience we had a great time and I wish the Daffodil team the best for the future. Thank you for looking after us so well great experience and great memories.
