I love the chateaux and the outstanding gardens so I took my partner there for a treat a week ago. Viewing the menu I was very tempted so booked us in at the venue and was lucky to get a seat that day. The staff run it to perfect order but as its a top class dinner you must expect its going to be leisurely savored and not bolted down! So be ready to take a two hour gastronomic experience. If you are a foodie you will be in food heaven! The menu was full of little touches-perfumed with flowers! The desert was the best desert anyone has ever served me! Saved the best till last. I had a cake ramped up with different flavours and served with a lavender icecream the like of which I have never experienced. The staff were first class. This is a first class treat! I would say this is probably one of the best restaurants i have ever encountered and for a tourist location it is outstanding! They do have fans in the restaurant and I went on a day where it hit the high end of the thirties-so if you are going anyway to be visiting the gardens do where light comfortable clothing and I go for a Bubble Rose on ice, hee. Enjoy!
Visited this restaurant on recommendation. Booked early and clearly explained my allergy to dairy. Extremely hot day and the marquee had very poor ventilation - it was like sitting in an oven. First course came within a reasonable time however main took one and three quarter hours to be delivered, despite the fact that it was not extremely busy, only to find that my meal was drenched in butter. It was suggested that they could do the meal again in oil however we did not have the time to wait considering the time it took in the first place. Staff then insisted on charging me for the meal which I refused to pay - not a pleasant experience at all. For a prestigious restaurant at an well promoted international garden festival - very little english spoken by staff. Travelled throughout France and Italy for a month and this rated as the 'most unpleasant experience'.
