Bidrage med feedbackHad such a good day here. booked the call the midwife hiking tour for Easter Sunday. this was very informative and brought us to share who would probably not have dared to others wisely. I was previously underwhelmed by the idea of the roper, but in reality it is epic and I loved the smell at the place where they did it. the tour also included the access to the props from the TV series and all stalls are identified. if they are not interested in that there are so many other things to do, including many restaurants and the commanders house gardens. this is also a high-time location apparently. I loved going on the boats and, above all, the Rettungsbootmuseum. I love the rnli and glad to see that they have such a big profile.especially their work in the canal. my only regret is that I didn't get there sooner than I could have stayed a few hours.
Fantastic museum with lots to see and do. Probably won't be able to do it all properly in a day, but most tickets are valid for a year! Great selection of displays, boats and ships that you can board (the submarine tour is a must) and more informative/static displays in galleries around the site. £25 may seem somewhat expensive, but you'll want to visit again to finish what you missed!
Brought my 5 year old nephew here and we both enjoyed ourselves! Theres and indoor play area near the restaurant if you need to pass some time or sit down to eat. The submarine was great and the staff were very informative. If you pay to get in once it gives you a free membership for the year to come back as many times as you want so good value for money! There's a lot to do there so no time to be bored. There are lots of interactive activities to take part in whilst you are learning about them. We learnt loads and had fun exploring the boats!
I forgotten how lovely and interesting this place is. A great range of activities and a very knowledgeable and helpful members turned our school trip into really hands-on history lesson. Will definitely go back in a less official role as the range of boats, ships and historical artefacts is worth to be explored.
The birth place of HMS Victory offers great insights from rope making to how life on a Cold War submarine was. Plus a impressive collection of RNLI boats beautifully displayed. Highly recommended!
