Haw River Grill - Chapel Hill

We quite enjoyed our early dinner here last night. We needed a quick meal before the UNC vs Duke Women's Soccer game so we stopped by here late in the afternoon for an early dinner. The black eyed pea hummus was delicious although ther pita chips were a little oily and I liked the hummus much better with the cucumber slices. I had the HRG Classic salad with grilled chicken for dinner and it was huge! Very fresh with great ingredients. The side had a grilled chicken melt sandwich with bacon that also looked delicious and ther fries that he got as a side were hot and crispy. They have a good selection of local draft beer and Bull City Ciderworks add well as wine, soda, and these gargantuan milkshakes which look like they could feed 3 people easily. Parking is easy. Definitely will be going back!

What a great find! The menu is small which means the food is superb! I had the Grilled Ham and Brie sandwich and my wife had the Fruity Turkey and both were amazing!!!! Then the milkshake for dessert... I mean go for the dinner cause it's awesome but really go for the milkshakes, they are insanely good!!!! Our friends are moving just down the street from Haw River and I'm so excited to go back! Plus local brews on draft for $4!!!

Food was good. People were nice. Lighting is a little weird in the dining area.

Food is fresh and delicious! Great patio and inside is modern and fun too. I had the veggie burger- made of cauliflower- it was yummy and so unique from the standard veggie burger fare. Brussels sprouts side is not my normal thing but I will get them again. My kids were thrilled with the chicken tenders, fries and milkshakes. Service was fast and friendly. This is a great place to enjoy very good food with friends or family!

This is my new FAVORITE place to eat! The veggie burger and Brussels sprouts I had were amazing, as are the salads. The staff is incredibly friendly, coming around to check on folks in a really genuine way. The milkshakes that came out looked like pieces of art gotta go back just for desert soon! Great draft beer selection and a lovely patio. It also appears they do lots of fundraisers for local schools, which is great. You usually expect some opening pains from restaurants in their first months of opening, but this place seems to already have it down. Highly recommend!
