Bidrage med feedbackThis laneway of many Asian street food options options is located downstairs at Westfield Garden City. Lots of cheap food options from various Asian countries available and there is also a bar selling beers from $6. I have visited this place several times when in Brisbane.
The food is mediocre and 50pc of time too salty. Don't spend all your money there. They don't cater to special dietary needs and half the selections are one type of Chinese noodles or other. There's 1 of each of these: Malaysian, Japanese, bubble tea, Vietbamese. Don't limit yourself to 8Street!! Bear in mind that in 4 directions around the eatery you can get other selections such as sugar cane juice, plus a carvery, sandwiches, a health food store with meat free organic foods, Fantasia, Hanaichi Japanese, Indian and a kebab shop with halal pizzas. Elsewhere in the SC try the cinema dining precint with Pho, and on the same level there's even Malatang (hot pot buffet), a dessert shop, Momo Korean, sushi stores. Also 8Street dining is not open yet due to Cov19; try other places with dine in options.
I have passed by this area many times in the past, but never decided to eat here because I am usually disappointed with Asian takeout back home, since my partner and I are good cooks; I always feel like I could have prepared the meal better myself compared to the Asian food in our hometown. However, that is not the case at this place. During a weekend of shopping in Brisbane, I tried food from three different stalls here and was pleased each time. I tried a classic Bibimbap meal from the Korean stall and it surpassed my expectations. I also tried a Fried chicken and coconut rice meal from another stall, which was not as good as the Bibimbap, but the fried chicken was delicious. Lastly, I had a duck wrap from the BBQ stall which was also excellent with plenty of filling and a tasty sauce. Overall, I was very satisfied with my dining experience here. What more could you ask for?
8 Street is a unique Asian dining experience located in the heart of a shopping center. The ambiance is amazing with dim lighting, rustic tables and chairs, and a bustling crowd of people. It's easy to forget you're in a mall when you're dining here. While seating in the street is limited, you can always take your food to the mall where there are plenty of tables available for groups of all sizes. The menu offers a wide variety of Asian cuisines to choose from, such as Chinese, Thai, Malaysian, Japanese, and Korean. It can be a challenge to decide what to eat, but it's always fun to share different dishes with friends. The food is freshly cooked or prepared, making it a great alternative to the typical food court options. Say goodbye to boring meals and come escape to 8 Street for a delicious and exciting dining experience.
Such a great choice of food styles it was hard to decide what to eat. Tried japaneese pancake and pumpkin fritter both were great and would recommend them. Also had some dumplings from Dim Sim again great eating. We will be going back to try some of the other stores. So nice to have Asian street food available in Brisbane and at a good price.
