We didn't have a reservation so we waited we in the neighborhood which was pleasant enough. The host at the door was so welcoming. We returned to be seated and the restaurant had an intimate feeling. Our table was comfortable and the staff were attentive. He spent time going over the menu and the drink menus. Much harder to choose than I anticipated. I highly recommend asking the staff for their suggestions. The staff definitely knew their jobs so well. It was a pleasant night of firsts! Such unusual drinks. I chose my first drink but the waiter had suggestions for the second based on my first choice. Refreshing and different. We chose a two tier platter that included two kinds of oysters with fresh horseradish, mignonette and a mango habanero sauce, mussels, razor clams sushi, cooked prawns with homemade cocktail sauce (exquisite), lobster with a herbed hot butter, salmon tartar, mussels topped with herbs... I could go on, but it was all beyond good.

Frank makes great drinks! No doubt this is the best cocktail bar in Quebec city, and the food is on par! However it is still a little away from the top 50 from many aspects. But if your customers are all red necks ordering cavier, who cares about ranking?

My wife and I had an incredible evening here. Neither of us had been to a speakeasy style restaurant and bar and JJacques was a great introduction to this style of dining experience. Sam took very good care of us I enjoyed a dozen oysters (the chef 's special daily sauce is truly incredible) while my wife had the shrimp cocktail. My wife 's lime daiquery was amazing and my mile high club was a close second. The blini were also very good. We also had the cavatelli and the scallops were very good. We ended with a decent kouign amann. Perhaps our best dinner in Quebec but we did have a lot of beer good meals so it 's a tough call...

Chose this restaurant to celebrate my 70th birthday could not have imagined a more delightful evening! From the charming challenge of finding the secret entrance to the warm, welcoming and helpful staff to the relaxed ambience to the deliciousness of the food, it was a fabulous and luxurious experience. A must experience speakeasy in Quebec City. The vibe is phenomenal, you feel like you were granted access to a unique and special place.Great wines and cocktails that are just wow!
