Toscano Harvard Square - Cambridge

Everything was just OK except our waiter was superb to make up for the slow timing and chewy veal scsllopine which they replaced. Both manager and waiter were accommodating but we would not go back or recommend.

The food was disappointing. I was looking forward to a traditional panzanella, but the bread was in very tiny pieces, soft and the size and texture of quinoa, with lettuce ...we almost thought that it was the wrong salad delivered. The eggplant parmigiana was also odd. Very thick, soft pieces of eggplant ... mushy and without much sauce or flavor. The restaurant location and ambience was nice, so it's too bad about the food. Hmm...

Truly lackluster. Caesar salad soggy, overdressed. Overused mustard sauce on two dishes. Sole was flavorless...even the greens had no salt or pepper. Roasted potatoes...meh. If I owned an Italian restaurant in a major city with amazing bakeries and outstanding Italian food at competitors, I'd be embarrassed to serve those pale, tasteless dinner rolls. What happened to this place?

This was a father's day dinner with my son. We had a great meal. Our server was terrific, and showed great patience with us since it took us quite a while to figure out what we wanted to eat. I would definitely come back for other special occasions.

Our go to restaurant when we are in Cambridge. Always excellent food and Service. Especially good in combination with performances at the American Repertory Theater down the stree.
