SIX - Cambridge

The location, food, drinks, and atmosphere at Six are fantastic. We always enjoy ourselves here and highly recommend it. During our last visit, we brought along five friends who also loved it. Thank you for meeting our high praise and giving our friends a great experience.

During our stay at the Varsity Hotel, we decided to have dinner at the hotel's restaurant one night. The views were stunning and the food was delicious, although the portions were quite large! The only downside was the slow service; we waited 45 minutes for our starter and noticed that other orders were being prepared after ours. However, the manager Valter was very understanding and apologized for the delay. The restaurant had a more casual and canteen-style atmosphere than I had expected. The main allure of dining here instead of the steak restaurant on the ground floor was the breathtaking views. Overall, I found it to be too casual for a hotel of such high quality.

I have a complaint regarding my reservation at the rooftop restaurant. I made a reservation weeks in advance to enjoy the views, using the OpenTable website. I received confirmation emails, which I brought with me on the day. Upon arrival, we were informed that our reservation was not on the list. Despite showing the emails, we were seated in the middle of the room instead of at a window table, even though there were empty tables available. This was for my friend's 50th birthday and we had traveled a long distance by train, so I was embarrassed by this incident. However, the food was excellent.

I took my enjoyable other out for a romantic date and we had a lovely time with lovely food and great, attentive service. The views were incredible, in spite of the rain, and added a special something to our experience.

Great location with fabulous views of Cambridge. Food is good and prices are reasonable; it would have been good to have some specials to liven up the menu. A good experience and would go back
