Restaurante Portón de San Sebastián

The place is cozy and very well located. Food was excellent (we had two different kind of fish -seabass and red snapper- and shrimp) and the service was friendly. The fried yuca with suero is a must try!We found the prices to be very comparable to the rest of Cartagena (approx 40,000 COP per dish).

We thoroughly enjoyed the food, but the service was so attentive and personalized. We all ordered seafood dishes of one sort or another. Very fresh and portions were just right. It is a very small place, 6-7 tables, so a reservation is good. We made ours with the man outside and it was honored completely. Wine selection was good, not extensive, but good limited selections. Highly recommend, all meals well cooked and very flavorful. The ladies serving you will make it extra special!

I chose the restaurant based on Trip Advisor reviews and they were not lying. This was the best seafood experience I have ever had. The restaurant is charming and the owner exudes a familial aunt feeling who can cook her butt off. This is one of those places where you can taste the love that went into the food and I can count restaurants where I felt that on one hand. I ordered an appetizer of grilled calamari and it was phenomenal. The highlight of my meal was the main course, the Arroz Marinero (seafood rice). It contained large pieces of various different types of seafood, all of which were fantastic. Highly recommended!

We decided for this restaurant based on Trip Advisor's reviews. Definitely overrated. Tiny restaurant, looks dirty and food was not good at all. I tried a bite of the fish and taste was so strong that I decided no to eat.

My husband and I went here with our energetic almost two-year-old and the staff couldn't have been kinder or more accommodating. The food was wonderful! I enjoyed one of the house shrimp specialties and my husband has the seafood and rice dish. We also had white wine sangria. We even got to finish our meal in peace when our waitress entertained our son for a few minutes at the end of our meal :) Highly recommend this place!
